Walking video

So video doesn't look great on here, but I had to put this one on. Isaac was only walking when we stood him up and got him to walk to us, but the other day he decided he wanted something, so he walked over and got it. He's starting to walk to things for his own benefit, not just because Paul or I try to get him to walk. Just wait until he figures out the running thing...

Blowing

Isaac has started one of his cutest tricks yet...blowing on everything. What's so cute about it is that it isn't a really blow; it's sort of a combination between a puff of air coming out of his mouth and a sigh (I'm not sure that makes sense...you'd just have to hear it). Paul and I blow on his food before we give it to him if it's hot, and Paul blows out candles while he's holding Isaac, so maybe that is where he has gotten it from. At first I didn't know what he was doing, because he would do it while he was playing in the living room. I haven't exactly figured out what all makes him think he needs to blow on something, but I'm coming up with a theory. He does blow on some food that we give him while he's in his high chair. (He blew on a pancake I gave him Sat. morning and he blew on his cheese toast this morning.) And he does help blow if we're blowing out a candle, but my favorite so far was this morning. For some reason he likes to chew on the noses of stuffed animals (his puppy, some bears, pretty much anything). He goes right for the nose to bite it (this might not bode well for any future siblings or classmates). Anyway, this morning he leaned over to bite the nose of a teddy bear and right before he did, he blew on it.

Here's a cute random picture for you.

Giant Messer

For those of you wondering what a stay at home mom does all day, I'd say this comprises a fair amount of the time. It seems that Isaac gets more creative by the day in ways to get into things and messes to make. One of his most recent favorite activities is pulling all the stuff off his shelves. He loves to throw everything over his shoulder so dramatically. I spend most of my day trying to keep up with his mess making (many days to no avail). I can't wait until he learns how to get into drawers! (HUGE amounts of sarcasm there.) Then I guess I'll be picking all my clothes up off the floor. :-)

He has to crawl all the way in to make sure he's gotten everything out.

He does occasionally put things back on the shelves...but only momentarily, so he can throw them back out.

Wouldn't you want to clean up this mess multiple times a day?

Two legged mobility

The Monkey is finally walking! We've been working on getting him to do it...I'm sort of surprised he didn't do it earlier. He's been able to pull up and walk while holding onto things for months, but he just refused to take the leap of taking steps on his own. So Paul put him down tonight and somehow coaxed some steps out of him. When Paul put him down, before he walked, he squatted down and did this little nervous laugh. It was quite adorable. Then I guess he finally decided he could try it, and low and behold, he walked! I've got some video of his second attempt I plan to put up, but I've got to edit it first. I guess we're entering a whole other world! (This picture is actually from a later date. I just have the video from the first day--no photos unfortunately.)

Peek-a-boo video

I'm making the leap to video, so we'll see how it goes. This was taken after Christmas on a stop to my cousin Debbie's house on our way home from Florida. Isaac likes playing peek-a-boo, but he had never really done it himself before this.

Comments!

Ok, I posted 5 new posts today (not counting this one)...my best effort yet at getting caught up. Two of the posts are in January, so you have to scroll down a bit to see those. I've been hearing rumors that quite a few of you are still keeping up with this blog (thanks for your patience!). I love to get comments, so please post them so I know you're still looking. (I'd hate to keep doing this if everyone has stopped looking at it!) Thanks Ardie for your comment--that was cute :-). I replied to it if you want my explanation. Hope everyone is doing well. Love to you all.

Santa Clause?

Nice bubble beard there, Bubba!

This is the biggest smile we've captured, and therefore the best picture of all those teethers!
