Hanging with the family

Playing XBox with Uncle A. Isaac is fascinated by the controller (he likes chewing on the knobs).

Who is this goof-ball?

Swinging with Granddaddy.

Christmas

Unfortunately, we got more video of Christmas than pictures, but we did get some.

Christmas Card Rejects

So we took a ton of pictures to get one for the Christmas card, and here are some that didn't make it (some are cute and some are just funny).

We got a little cranky...

and we got a little hot,...

but we got some cute pictures.

First Christmas Present

So we got a treat from Great Aunt Frances. Isaac couldn't quite figure out how to get into it (it being his first present...by the end of Christmas, he had that tearing paper thing down!) Daddy helped some.
Hey, look! I got checks! (He really liked playing with the box :-). Nope, not checks...
Thanks for my first ornament Aunt Frances!

Stairs

Well, Isaac made it all the way up the stairs by himself today. He made it half way yesterday, so I think he's figuring it out pretty quickly. I don't have a picture of it, but I thought I'd post it.

More toilet paper

Busted!
Here, want some?

Buried alive.

This time he didn't just pull it off the role, he ripped it into pieces.

Who could be mad at this face?

Shoes

Isaac doesn't quite understand the concept of using shoes to walk on. He seems to think that they are just chew toys attached to his feet.

He particularly likes the laces.

I wish I was this flexible!

Daddy the hair stylist?

I think maybe Daddy secretly wants to be a hair stylist.

Getting so big...

The boy is standing like a champ. He pulls up on everything and can walk around a room by moving from one piece of furniture to the next.

He also likes banging on and kissing mirrors and windows.

Playing with Kaylee

OK, for those of you who know Kaylee, you know how grouchy, ornery, and mean she can be. Since Isaac was born, she hasn't had a thing to do with him; she has stayed as far from him as possible. If he crawls anywhere near her, she takes off. She has not shown the least bit of interest in him. Which means I can draw only one conclusion from this moment...it must be invasion of the dog body snatchers.

I give up

So as hard as I try, it's almost impossible to keep the baby from chewing on the dog toys. If the dogs leave them laying around, it's just about guaranteed that Isaac is going to find them. It seems that rawhides aren't just enjoyable to dogs; babies seem to like them too. (I'm not sure why; the thought of it makes me gag.)

Crossed feet

Do other babies do this? Isaac loves to cross his legs at the ankles. He'll do it sitting in a seat, he'll do it when he's lying on his changing table. Is this common or is it just my little poser?

Maymont

Maymont is a park in Richmond, Va that belonged to a rich couple in the early 1900's. Apparently they had no kids, so they left their estate to the city to be used as a park. They have all kinds of animals and some beautiful gardens. This was Isaac's first visit, and it was a little colder than we thought it would be, so we had to use some creative outfitting. Don't you like the outfit? (Thank you Quinlin for loaning us a jacket).

Our first experience with goats. Isaac wasn't quite sure what to make of them.

Cousin Nolan is an excellent entertainer. He's great at making Isaac laugh!

You aren't supposed to pick the flowers. Apparently Isaac didn't read the sign.
